  How are cruises priced?

Stateroom - Disney prices its cruises based on categories of staterooms (just like a resort/hotel room) which are priced based on location on the boat, overall square footage, window (not all rooms have one), balconies (some have them, some don't) and room amenities (one bathroom vs. two).  Categories range from 1 to 12 with 12 being the most reasonably priced.  All stateroom categories enjoy the same benefits aboard, so consider how much time you'll actually be spending in your room when deciding which level of stateroom you prefer.  Most staterooms sleep four guests (some sleep three), but there are mid-range rooms which can accommodate five.  (*Tip! Children who sleep in cribs are not a part of the guest count. They can room, and sail for free, but are subject to the sailing tax.)

Occupancy - Cruises are priced at what they call double occupancy meaning that there must be two full priced fairs charged to book one stateroom (rather there is one guest or two).  The third, forth and fifth passengers receive a discounted rate (sometimes as low as 90% off the first two rates.

Time of Year - Like most vacations, cruises are least expensive during the low travel months and are most expensive during the peak travel months.  Peak travel times are the summer months, spring break and the Christmas and New Year holidays.  If you have the option of sailing during May, September or even October, these are the best months to find bargain rates.

Booking - The further out you book, the better the price.  Cruises get more expensive the closer to their sailing date, so book early to get in on the best prices.

  What do cruises include?

Almost everything onboard: Your stateroom, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks plus 24 hour room service), activities and entertainment (shows, etc.).  Spa treatments onboard and rentals at Castaway Cay are optional and are not included.  Your airfare, transfers and tipping are also not included.

  When do they sail?

Most of the 3, 4 and 7 day cruises sail year round, but some cruises sail only during the summer months while some special cruises sail only during the holidays.  Inquire for more info on a particular cruise or cruise sailing date.

  3-Day Cruises sail on Thursdays
  4-Day Cruises sail on Sundays
  5-Day Cruises* sail on Mondays
  7-Day Cruises sail on Saturdays
  10-Day Cruises sail on Wednesdays
  11-Day Cruises sail on Saturdays
  14-Day Cruises sail on Saturdays
(*5-Day Bahamian Cruises will begin sailing in September 2008)

From which city do they sail?
All Disney cruises sail from Port Canaveral, Florida (about 45-60 minutes from Disney World), but Disney is launching a new cruise which will sail from California beginning in 2008.  Inquire for more details.

Do I have to purchase airfare through Disney Cruise Line?
No.  In fact, you can usually find a better rate by purchasing your airfare separately.

Are there transfers available from MCO to Port Canaveral?
Yes.  If you purchase your airfare through Disney Cruise Line, then your transfers are complimentary.  If you purchase your airfare separately, Disney can pick you (and your luggage) up at MCO for $69 per person (round trip).  Depending on the size of your party, you may be better off renting a car.  Inquire for details.

If I'm booking airfare separately, what time should I arrive and depart?
The general rule is to arrive at MCO no later than 12:30pm and depart MCO no earlier than 12:30pm.
